Samsung is always launching new products every month. This is how they keep their series fresh. Many people say that Samsung always launches many devices. But the launch of these new devices replaces old models usually. For example, we bought Core prime 6 months ago at $150 but at that price, we can get Grand Prime now. This is one example of why new models and refresh is helpful. So, Samsung has introduced new Tablets in the market for users in 2015. We have made Analysis of Latest Samsung Tablets of 2015 and done some comparison.

Basically, there are three tablets and they each fall under a special price segment. There are series and they are similar to smartphone series. First, we have the Tab E. After that there is Tab A and finally there is flagship Tab S. Just like phones S series is the highest end model. A series is mid-range and E series is near to A lineup.

3) Galaxy Tab E

Samsung Galaxy Tab E is a new tablet PC which costs $270. It is a mid-range tablet with 9.6” screen and a resolution of 800×1280. The device runs with 1.2 GHz quad-core processor on Snapdragon 410. The RAM is 1.5 GB and the internal storage is 8 GB. There is external memory support that can be extended up to 128 GB.

It has a 5 MP rear facing camera with f/2.2 aperture that can record 720p videos. And at front, it has 2 MP f/2.4 camera for video chatting. That battery is pretty good which is 5000 mAh. This gives it good stand by and talk time. The device supports 3G network as well for calling and data.

2) Galaxy Tab A

It is a new tablet of Galaxy A series which some improvement over Tab E.  It costs about $328. Tab A comes in two sizes which are 8” and 9.7”. These tablets have a resolution of 768×1024. So there is a pixel density of 160 PPI in 8.0” version and with 132 PPI in 9.7” model. The Operating system is Android 5.0 Lollipop. Galaxy Tab A supports 4G LTE and also a 3G network.

It also has the same 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 chip. The memory and onboard storage are different for both versions. For the WiFi version, there is 1.5 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. For LTE version there is 2 GB RAM and 32 GB onboard storage. Both models support external card up to 128 GB. In this tablet, we have 5 MP rear camera with 720p HD video recording capability. The 2 MP front camera is also capable of giving decent video call quality. The Tab A 8.0” version has only 4000 mAh battery but the 9.7″ version has 6000 mAh battery. So just for battery, we would choose the bigger screen model.

1) Galaxy Tab S2

As the series has name S, it says this is the flagship tablet of Samsung. This also comes in two sizes of 8” and 9.7”. It is really thin and lightweight tablet with just 5.6 mm thickness. Tab S2 comes with 3GB of RAM and either Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 or Exynos 5433 octa-core chip. The Snapdragon chip has 1.8 GHz and 1.4 GHz quad-core sets. The Exynos chip has 1.9 GHz and 1.3 GHz quad-core sets. Both versions come in 32 GB and 64 GB model with 128 GB external SD card support.

This tablet comes with 8 MP back camera with the 1080p FHD video recording capability. The front camera is 2 MP that can give decent pictures. 8” model of Tab S2 has 4000 mAh battery and 9.7” has 5870 mAh battery. The WiFi module supports the 5 GHz band and there is also an LTE version. There is fingerprint scanner support which is great because only top-end models have it. The price of Galaxy Tab S2 in India is Rs 39,400 so in Nepal, it will be around Rs 63040.

Wrap up and Suggestions

The Galaxy Tab E and A are being sold exclusively in Flipkart in India. Tab E costs Rs 16,900 and Tab A costs Rs 20,500. This puts them in the mid-range category according to price and specs. Galaxy Tab E 3G version is also available with Vodafone’s bundling package offer. Galaxy Tab A is available with Airtel’s bundling package. They said they will provide many digital gifts in various genres.

In our analysis of the latest Samsung Tablets, we see that there are actually just 3 options. Each has different specs and build quality. For Tab A and E the pixel density was found low and people found it irritating because they bought the tablets to watch movies and some to read eBooks as well. In the case of OS, it is latest and may soon get 5.2 Lollipop. If you are going to buy it then buy a model with a bigger battery and if you are looking for the best Tab S2 is the best choice.
