Display and Cameras
This is an Omega series smartphone with a 5.5″ IPS LCD panel, 640×1280 resolution, and 18:9 aspect ratio. The resolution is less than HD but makes a tall aspect ratio. The screen also has 2.5D glass on top that provides a slight curve at the edges of the screen. CG Omega 8 has a 13 MP camera at the back which is standard in most budget phones. Similarly, the front side has 5 MP selfie cameras with LED flashlights beside the earpiece and a top part of the front side.
The back camera can record videos at full HD resolution or 1080p and capture high-resolution stills. Even the front camera is very much capable of taking decent-quality images and selfies. At the price point, CG is providing the standard that one should receive for paying what the company is asking. We actually can’t ask much from them because it is a good specs for the camera. However, the post-processing and software are very important after having such a sensor and that is where we can ask the company to work more.
Impression and Thoughts
CG Omega 8 is a neat package with a new stylish design, tall screen, narrow body, smaller bezels, quad-core processor, 13 MP camera, LED flash on both sides, and stock Android skin. On top of the hardware value, CG Mobiles is providing 1-year insurance with the phone which is interesting. Most manufacturers only provide a warranty.
The company is providing a good-looking mobile with a new design, good display and decent hardware. Besides the value, one of the best offerings is the insurance offer. Omega 8 has the specifications of a normal phone in this range. This means this is what a phone should have. However let us make one thing clear, specs matter but software optimization is also very important and performance depends on both. Overall Omega 8 checks the list with its hardware, design, sensors, and features well but the insurance can is the main deal maker for according to us.
