Colors Nepal has launched a new smartphone again this quarter. The Colors Pride P65 is the new mobile that has been out just a few weeks before the launch of Colors S9. At launch, the official Colors Pride P65 price in Nepal is Rs 7,995. This price is under Rs 10,000 or $100 which means it is a basic entry-level phone. Actually, Colors is very well known for making budget-oriented phones. By budget, we mean entry-level phones.
The Nepali market truly needs cheaper 4G phones for better internet and technology penetration. So Colors is definitely helping in that. In true reality, many of the Chinese smartphone manufacturers are also helping but Colors is a brand that is more popular. It is a Nepali brand so people have somewhat higher recognition of its products. Colors has made its name in the budget smartphone market. So to keep up, Colors Pride P65 is here.

Build and Design
Colors Pride P65 has a plastic build with two shade backs. On the bottom half, there is a streamlined texture with a speaker grill while on the top part, there is a smooth back. The front side has a screen at the center and navigation touch buttons at the bottom. Above the screen at the forehead, there are sensors, a selfie camera, and an earpiece. The top rail of the phone has a mic and headphone jack while the bottom has a USB port. The right side of the phone has both a volume rocker and a power button.
Core Internal Hardware
Inside we get a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor on MediaTek MT6580 SoC. It is paired with 1 GB RAM and Mali 400 GPU. There is 8 GB on-board storage support which is reasonable at this price. The phone supports a maximum of 128 GB of memory card. Under the back, it packs a 3000 mAh battery. Colors Pride P65 has Android 7.0 Nougat OS which is pretty neat. Colors mostly use stock UI which is very nice, so the software part is sorted.

Display and Cameras
Colors P65 has a 5” IPS LCD display with a resolution of 480×854 or FWVGA. This is a basic resolution and screen but is reasonable the price. We know we can’t ask for FHD or HD at this price bracket. Now for the camera, both front and back sides have a 5 MP camera. The back side features f/2.0 aperture which can record 720p videos. The front side has a ‘Screen flash’ to compensate for low light. Pictures and videos are pleasing and good enough for the price being.
Impression
Music Phone: Colors is branding this phone as “Music Phone”. The company says it has Hi-Fi speakers for better sound quality. This is why the phone is tagged as a “Music Phone”. A true audiophile could definitely test and tell us the quality. So if you get a chance to review this and are an audiophile, do share your sound experience.
Colors Pride P65 has the basic and decent type of core hardware, processor, RAM, and storage. It also has decent cameras. We really like that the company has put an effort into optics. For example, there is a hard camera lens at the back which protects it from scratches and breaks. The output resolution is also good. We can’t expect a high resolution and bigger sensors at the entry level at this time. In future sure we will get fat better than this.
Colors Pride P65 is a dual SIM phone with 4G band support. It is good because we need more cheap and affordable 4G phones. For availability, the company is offering only two color options. There is just Matte Black and Champagne Gold.
The competition for entry-level is getting tougher these days and people are expecting higher specs at lower prices now. We hope Color keeps the spirit high and brings better phones in the future. We really wish that phone companies help to totally replace bar phones from people’s hands in rural areas. Then only we can improve the reach of information and technology everywhere.
