DWIT or Deerwalk Institute of Technology is organizing a job fair for 2023. It is a fair that is happening since 2017. DWIT job fair is especially for IT students, software engineers, and coders. This is an open fair that helps students to find new jobs, internships, and opportunities. Finding a job or even an internship is hard in this time of competition. There is a lot of competition because of the higher number of computer science students, IT aspirants, and engineers these days. So the DWIT job fair is happening on March 4th of 2023 at Sifal, Kathmandu from 11 AM to 5 PM.
Deerwalk Institute of Technology is a private college that was founded by Rudra Raj Pandey in collaboration with Deerwalk Inc of USA. DWIT is affiliated with Tribhuvan University for its academic programs. They are very popular in the IT industry as the institute has given many experts to Nepal. In order to help the growing and budding talents, the institute has partnered with other organizations to give them a golden chance. The job fair is simply catering the jobs to the students, aspirants, and experts. Many software companies, reputed institutions, and startups will be present at the fair.

DWI Job Fair Details
This job fair is aimed mainly at students and current pass-out alumni. However, it is not limited to DWIT students. This fair is actually open to all people. Mainly students with computer science (CS), software, and IT as majors can participate. You can have an interview and get a chance to have a job or internship at related companies. In Nepal, we rarely see such events so Delta Digit highly supports these things. Maybe one day, we will also recruit from the job fair.
There is almost no job placement system in Nepali colleges as compared to Indian colleges. So, this is a good initiation and we highly praise it. We also encourage students, pass-outs, and opportunity seekers to go and participate.

Job Fair and Placement Drives for Improving Software industry
Nepali education system seriously lacks touch with the industry. Academia solely focuses on pushing out people with bookish knowledge and degree. Students are not given internships and they are suddenly expected to go out and search for a job. Unlike India, there also aren’t placement drives. In our neighboring country of India, big companies come to government and private colleges to hire students. The institutes call them placement drives. Nepal also needs such placement drives to recruit students.
There are many talented people in Nepal but they don’t get good opportunities. Therefore there is a brain drain and people go abroad. Nepali IT expect and software engineers are very good. There are Nepalese people working in Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Intel, and other big companies. So we do have the skilled manpower to create big software or IT hubs in Nepal. The industry, academia, and government should work together to keep talent in home and develop Nepal’s software export industry. In this era, there is a huge scope for service export, IT, and software export industry. This can help Nepalese IT experts get a job and strengthen forex reserve with help of remittance that comes from service export.
