Build and Design
The Gionee S11 Lite has a sleek and modern design. It has a plastic body but glossy looks like glass that looks premium but feels mediocre. The phone is slim and lightweight, with 153.8 x 72.6 x 7.9 mm dimensions and 141 grams weight. It might feel light, but it feels pretty sturdy. The front of the Gionee S11 Lite has an IPS LCD screen with minimal bezels, that give a beautiful look. There is Gionee branding on the chin at the front, an earpiece, a selfie camera, and sensors at the forehead of the phone on the front side as well.
On the back, we can find a dual-camera setup, fingerprint sensor, and the Gionee logo. The USB port and 3.5mm headphone phone jack are located at the bottom. The SIM card tray is on the left side while the power button and volume rocker are on the right side. This is not a good design choice because when all buttons are on the same side, it can be confusing.

Core Internal Hardware
The Gionee S11 Lite is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset, that has an octa-core processor and Adreno 505 GPU. It has 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 256 GB using a micro SD card. Gionee S11 Lite offers a good processor for performance and sufficient space for storing a lot of content. 4GB RAM and 32 GB storage is a good combination at this price. The battery department has a nonremovable 3030 mAh battery that provides power throughout the day. For software, Gionee S11 Lite runs on Android 7 and Amigo UI on top of it. The phone should get Android 8 Oreo soon.
Display and Cameras
The Gionee S11 Lite has a 5.7″ IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 720×1440. This is an 18:9 aspect ratio and is the new taller aspect ratio popular in modern phones. The latest Huawei Mate 10 Pro, Samsung Galaxy A8 Plus, Oppo A83, and Gionee M7 Power all have this aspect ratio. It provides a larger area and a great multimedia experience.
The camera setup is also quite good in Gionee S11 Lite. There’s a dual-camera system on the back, with a 13 MP main sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2 MP depth sensor. This dual setup captures detailed and sharp images. For selfies, the front camera has a 16 MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. It takes detailed selfies and can record clear videos. 16 MP is a very good pixel count for a camera.
Impressions and Analysis
There are many features with the Gionee S11 Lite. On the back side of the phone, there is a fingerprint sensor. It has USB OTG support, a compass, an app lock, game mode, and much more. Feature-wise we are getting some good value on the Gionee S11 Lite. It has a modern design and powerful hardware. Multitask is smooth and the phone performs efficiently, due to the Snapdragon 430 processor and 4 GB RAM. The chipset is good but other newer and better processors from Qualcomm can be found in competitors. For example, Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus is a very close competitor with really good hardware.

The dual-camera setup captures photos and videos with good clarity and depth. Anyways, we can see that Gionee is also focusing on selfies instead of the traditional primary cameras. It means more power is directed to the other side or selfie side and people who don’t take selfies are not getting the right power. So if you are a selfie person then Gionee S11 Lite has an advantage.
Gionee S11 Lite is priced near to many mid-range phones. At just a few thousand additional Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro and Xiaomi Mi A1 can be found which have quite better hardware and a nice camera. The Gionee S11 Lite faces tough competition in a saturated market with numerous options. For users who want a blend of style, power, and functionality, this phone is a strong contender. In our first impression, the Gionee S11 Lite turns out to be a decent phone for selfie lovers which could have been better if priced a bit cheaper.
