Just shortly after international launch of Nokia 1, Nokia 6 and Nokia 7 Plus, they have made their way to Nepal. The official distributor Paramount Electronics Pvt. Ltd. has launched these phones in Nepali market. Nokia 1 is one of the most interesting phones as it runs on new Android Go. All these phones are very interesting and we love Nokia’s commitment to Android One.
Nokia told that on Nokia 3 and phones above this will have Android One. This is now true in practice also. Company admits that Pure Android is best form of OS as it is easy to use. Google guarantees regular updates and this makes everyone happier. Enough about software, lets talk about new phones.
Nokia 1: Nokia was known to make best durable budget phones more than a decade ago. Now as they have revamped everything, we get Nokia 1. It is their entry level budget offering to the smartphone market. This 2018 phone has 4.5” IPS LCD screen 480×850 resolution. Under the screen, it rocks a 1.1 GHz quad core processor on Mediatek MT6737M SOC.
This SOC is soldered with Mali T720 GPU, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB of storage. The Nokia 1 runs with a 2150 mAh battery on the inside. It supports dual SIM cards and memory card up to 128 GB. At back the is 5 MP camera and at front there is a 2 MP one. Currently at launch the Nokia 1 Price in Nepal is Rs 9,325. It doesn’t have any fingerprint scanner though. Its main USP is Android Oreo Go. This is a simplified version of Android for low power devices.
Nokia 6 (2018): There was a Nokia 6 last year as well and they have upgraded it. Nokia 6 2018 is the new revision of its predecessor. This is definitely a mid range phone in terms of price and specs. Nokia 6 (2018) comes with 5.5” FHD IPS LCD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top. Its heart is a Snapdragon 630 with 2.2 GHz octa core processor. There is 3 GB RAM and 32 GB variant available in market.
On camera side, this mid range champ features a 16 MP f/2.0 sensor that an record 4K videos at 30 fps. Also the front 8 MP camera can take great photos and videos at 1920×1080 resolution. A 3000 mAh battery power this device which also supports fast charging. There is fingerprint scanner at the back. Nokia 6 2018’s price in Nepal is Rs 29,399. This phone has lots of features like Bluetooth 5.0, Nokia OZO audio and mainly Android One.
Nokia 7 Plus
This is also a mid range phone but at higher price point. Nokia 7 Plus has a large 6” 1080×2160 IPS LCD screen. It is 2:1 tall aspect ratio so we can say that Nokia is on board the new display trend as well. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 on top. Its chest includes an Octa Core processor on Snapdragon 660.
The 7 Plus has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. It is a dual SIM phone with 256 GB SD card support. Camera department on the back is comprised of dual 12 MP sensors. One has f/1.75 and next has f/2.6 aperture. Nokia mostly uses Carl Zeiss lens with their phone and we can see them in action here.
At front there is 16 MP f/2.0 module with Carl Zeiss lens as well. The cameras on this phone can take great videos and very high resolution detailed pictures. Nokia 7 Plus comes with massive 3800 mAh battery which is fantastic just like the Android One it runs with. It supports fast charging, Bluetooth 5.0 and has rear mounted fingerprint reader. Price of Nokia 7 Plus in Nepal is Rs 46,899.
These are some great phones from Nokia and our personal favorite is Nokia 1. This is due to Android Go software. We highly recommend manufacturers to go with pure Android like Android One on their phones. Also they should have Android Go in entry level low power smartphones just like Nokia 1.
