The most affordable and cheapest Nokia smartphone is now available in Nepal. Paramount Electronics has launched the Nokia 2 as a budget-level phone for the masses. It is a very affordable entry-level phone from HMD Global. The current Nokia 2 price in Nepal is Rs 11,499. Nokia has been so famous since early 2000 that almost every normal phone user knows this brand name. Mobile phone enthusiasts are very excited about the brand’s launch in Nepal because it is Nokia’s rebirth in the smartphone world.
Unlike the expectation of market market-disruptive launch, Nokia is doing just fine. Nokia now has feature phones and also has smartphones in all segments. Nokia Nepal actually started with mid-range models though. Now they are in the entry-level or budget market. The new Nokia 2 is an entry-level phone with mediocre specs. They are slowly going to the high-end market with Nokia 8 and Nokia 9. Currently in 2017, finding retailers with Nokia stock is hard in Nepal.

Display and Cameras
Nokia 2 has a 5″ IPS LCD screen with 720×1280 HD resolution. It is a very standard type of screen panel and resolution for the budget. Above the screen, there is a 5 MP selfie camera. On the back side of the phone, there is a 8 MP camera Both of these cameras can only record videos at 1280×720 resolution. They can take pretty decent photos at reasonable resolution and details. Overall these aren’t the best cameras but this is what Nokia is offering on its budget smartphones.
Impressions
It is very good to see Nokia looking after the budget market. The undeniable truth is that the biggest market can’t be skipped which is budget range. Looking at the processor of this phone, the Snapdragon 212 is quite a bit same as the Snapdragon 410 in terms of performance but the Snapdragon 212 doesn’t have 64-bit capability. It would have been better to have the Snapdragon 410.
Now looking at other specs, it has one of the biggest batteries in smartphones of this price range which is just great. The Nokia 2 is also running with pure Android and no skin overlay. It gives a clean and smooth experience. 1 GB RAM is becoming insufficient these days and we recommend getting 2 GB RAM minimum. But at this budget, we appreciate the hardware from the company. They could have gone for at least 1.5 GB. Considering the HD display, giant battery, and good software, the Nokia 2 is a good phone but be skeptical about 1 GB RAM if you want to run this phone for long time.
