The Nokia 8 is a flagship-level smartphone so it has a full solid metal body. This phone actually has a more rectangular and boxy look, but its sides at the back are curved for ergonomics. On the left side, there is an SD card plus SIM card tray and on the right, there is a volume rocker with the power button.
Internal Hardware and Features
Nokia now offers great hardware and power at a very competitive price. In the Nokia 8, we get the Snapdragon 835 with an octa-core processor. The processor has 2 quad-core sets, one is 2.5 GHz and the next is 1.8 GHz. For GPU, we get Adreno 540 powering that 2k display.
In terms of memory and storage, there are two variants. One model has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage while the next has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. This is a good option because people can choose according to their needs and budget. By the way, people can also use external memory cards up to 256 GB to store additional files. In terms of battery, this device has a 3090 mAh battery with 18W Quick Charge 3.0 support.
As we told you earlier, this is feature feature-rich flagship-level phone. So there are features such as a fingerprint scanner, Always On display (AoD), Quick Charge 3, Bluetooth 5, and barometer.

Display and Cameras
The Nokia 8 features a 5.3” IPS LCD screen with 1440×2560 resolution. This is QHD+ or 2K resolution. It is slightly curved at the edge like 2.5D glass and protected by the latest Gorilla Glass 5 for better durability. The spec sheet says that it has Always On display (AoD) but that is useful only in AMOLED so we have to see how an LCD works out.
Nokia this time has also embraced dual camera technology. The new Nokia 8 features dual 13 MP f/2.0 cameras at the back. This setup can shoot videos at 4k at 30 fps. It can take fantastic stills with great details with the help of HDR and OIS. The optics is made by ZEISS in partnership with Carl Zeiss AG which is a German company. The back camera also has laser and phase detection autofocus. At the front, it holds a 13 MP f/2.0 sensor which is also capable of shooting at 2160p. Only very few phones can record at 2160p with the front camera.
Impression
Nokia 8 has good design, solid build quality, and clean software. It is running Android 7.1.1 for now. The Oreo update is also rolling out very soon. It has a 3090 mAh battery powering everything up. The phone packs a faster processor, sharper display, and every sensor we can get hold of. There is a fingerprint scanner at the front, a gyrosensor, a barometer, compass on the inside. Quick Charge 3 and Bluetooth 5 have also made it here.
Everything here tells us that the Nokia 8 is a brilliant device. Nepal is only getting a 4 GB RAM version with 64 GB storage. We hope they use a wider aperture next time in phones of such caliber. At that price, only the OnePlus 5 provides higher memory and storage, so that is good competition. Looking at other competitors, the Nokia 8 is a great phone to buy at this price range. But we also suggest customers have a look at OnePlus 5. Else, we highly recommend this new phone from Nokia.
