Jaima Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd launched the new OTTO Frank Dual in Nepal. It is the newer addition in the market after OTTO Chekr. It was a health-centered bar phone with special features. Now the new OTTO Frank Dual is entry entry-level phone with some interesting features. It features a dual camera, fingerprint sensor, and quad-core processor on a budget. It is good to see that budget phones are also getting into the dual-camera game. For now, the OTTO Frank Dual price in Nepal is Rs 9,996.
We were fascinated by the name at first. It is because Otto Frank was the father of the famous Anne Frank. Otto published the manuscript of her daughter and it was named ‘The Diary of a Young Girl’. So it can be confusing when someone hears about this phone for the first time. Maybe this is why the company placed ‘Dual’ at the end of the name. Anyway, this new budget phone has surprising features at such a lower price. There are a few things here that we have never seen in entry-level phones, so let us discuss them.

Design and Build
The OTTO Frank has a metallic body which gives it a strong and sturdy build. Having a metal body in under Rs 10,000 or $90 budget is incredibly insane, to be honest. Most of the expensive mid-range phones also have plastic so this is good for the Frank Dual. The smartphone has a small footprint as it has a 5″ screen. The front has a screen with small black borders, a chin with a fingerprint scanner-infused home button, and a top with an earpiece, selfie camera, and sensors.
The back of the Frank Dual comes with small antenna lines, dual cameras, LED flash, and Otto branding. OTTO Frank Dual has a bit of an unorthodox design as it has just the speaker grill at the bottom and it has a USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top. The right side of the phone has volume and power buttons while the left side has the SD and SIM card slot.
Core Internal Hardware
Inside, the OTTO Frank Dual is packing MediaTek MT6580 SoC with a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. It has a Mali-400 GPU, 1 GB of RAM, and 16 GB of internal storage. Users can use SD cards up to 64 GB if they need to. As this is basic and entry-level hardware, it has hardware just like a basic phone. Smartphones at this price usually have 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage, so it is optional.
In the software department, the Frank Dual is running Android 7 Nougat with a custom UI on top. For running all this there is a 2200 mAh to power the smartphone. For security, there is a fingerprint scanner at the front, and for features, there are a few gesture features provided. LED notification is also present on this phone which is exceptional and brilliant. Overall The Frank Dual is packed with features for a bduegt level Android smartphone.

Display and Cameras
On the front of OTTO Frank Dual, there is a 5” IPS LCD display with 720×1280 HD resolution. On top of that, there is a 2.5D glass which provides a slight curve at the edge of the screen. As per the company officials, it is a tough laminated glass for better protection.
The camera here on this device is very interesting. The dual camera is now becoming common in the high-end and mid-range segment. But OTTO Frank is introducing dual cameras at the back at entry-level. This is a great thing to see and thus it gets the name “Dual”. This phone features 8 MP and 2 MP camera sets at the back that can take HD 720p videos. At the front, there is a 2 MP shooter for selfies and video chat. The Sony IMX sensors at the back help shoot decent pictures with a good bokeh effect. These aren’t the greatest set of cameras but for budget these are very interesting.
Overall Impression
OTTO is a company from Singapore and is new in Nepal. But their new entry-level phone ‘OTTO Frank Dual’ 2017 is very interesting. It provides great features compared to price. Considering the price of the phone, people are getting very good hardware compared to other manufacturers. Metal body, HD display, and fingerprint scanner are rare to find on cheap phones and Otto is providing with its new Dual phone.
In our view, internal storage is also very good and we really can’t complain about RAM here. Dual Camera and LED notifications are extra cheese for this delicacy. So in our view, OTTO Frank Dual provides excellent value in terms of features and hardware for the price.
