Samsung Galaxy A7 Hands On: Hardware, impression, feature

Samsung Galaxy A7 On Hands

Samsung Galaxy A7 is the elite model of A series. We got our hands on this awesome and juiced up hunk. The Galaxy A7 is one high-end device after the new A5 and A3. The A series is a mid-range phone group where Galaxy A7 is top in the series. It is a great competitor in the flagship category. This can go neck to neck with high-end models of multiple companies. So we want to share our experience and impression with everyone.

Detailed Specifications

The Galaxy A5 comes with Samsung’s own Exynos chipset in one model and Snapdragon 615 in another model. Exynos 5430 and SD 615 both are Octa-core processors. The Snapdragon 615 has 1.5 GHz and 1.0 GHz quad-core sets. Exynos version has 1.8 GHz and 1.3 GHz Quad-core sets. It is a huge jump from the Galaxy A5 and A3 in terms of processor. If we compare the same big but cheaper competitor Galaxy E7 then we see marginal improvement as well.

The RAM here is 2 GB which is as same as Galaxy S5 and A5. The onboard storage is 16 Gigabyte internal memory and up to 64 GB external SD card support. Galaxy A7 offers big 5.5” Super AMOLED screen with full HD 1080X1920 resolution. It gives top-level sharpness just like a flagship with great color production. The cameras are exactly the same as A5 which means 13 MP f/2.0 rear camera and 5 MP f/2.2 front camera. Rear camera can capture photos at 4128×3096 while both sensors support FHD video recording. The battery is 2600 mAh and it is of good size.

Special hardware and features

As a mid range phone of a high standard, Galaxy A7 has Aluminium chassis, metal unibody design with a slim profile. It is the slimmest Galaxy phone till this date. So it is a very interesting phone because it packs really good hardware set in very small size. By size, we meant thickness and not other dimensions. Very few phone manufacturers manage to get this kind of design. One noticeable and good looking feature is chamfered metallic edges.

There is Gorilla Glass 4, NFC and LTE support. Samsung is also pushing popular features like Ultra Power saving mode, Private mode, My Knox, Smart Stay, etc. The camera includes multiple modes like Animated GIF, Beauty face, Palm Selfie, voice-controlled camera, S-Voice, and more. My Know provides high-level security and secure space. It is very useful for corporate users. Know is recognized and trusted by many digital and IT security firms.

The performance and power of this smartphone is exceptional because of octa core processor. There is a good difference between a 4 core processor and a 8 core processor. Galaxy A7 doesn’t have much RAM compared to other cheaper phones but we have to notice that previous flagship Galaxy S5 also has the same amount. We really like the 1080p screen because it looks fantastic for all types of work.

Impressions and Conclusion

Samsung Galaxy A7 is a very good phone in the company’s portfolio. It comes with a very fast and powerful processor. It also backs a very high-resolution display and nig battery. There is a sufficient amount of memory and storage. The software is also very new and cameras are also really great. The price of Samsung Galaxy A7 in Nepal officially is Rs 45,000 ($450) in offer with Rs 5000 cash back offer. This is cheaper than India’s MRP.

If we see the price and hardware we get, this phone is a no brainer. It is a really good mobile device to have. Galaxy A7 is truly a premium phone with some of the best hardware and design. If you need a slightly better processor and a much better camera then we suggest purchasing the older Galaxy S5 or Note 4. The starting price was very high in Nepali grey market. But it came down when A7 was released in the white market. A7 2015 Duos is available in Midnight Black, Pearl White, and Champagne Gold.
