Samsung Galaxy J Max specs, review and price in Nepal

Samsung Nepal has launched Galaxy J Max in Nepal at Rs 21900. It is 7 inch phone which resides in tablet category. The company is shipping this device with a Bluetooth headset for communication and entertainment. It is obviously a big device with lots of features and options. This is our story on Samsung Galaxy J Max specs, impression, price in Nepal.Samsung Galaxy J Max consists of 7” TFT display with screen resolution of 800×1280. Underneath there is Spreadtrum SOC with 1.5 GHz quad-core processor. It combines with 1.5 GB RAM and Mali 400 GPU. The SOC comes with 8 GB internal storage and support SD card up to 200 GB.

It is tablet sized phone, so the emphasis on camera is very low. The front camera is 2 Megapixel of aperture f/2.2 and primary set is 8 MP of f/1.9. This indicates that the back camera can take full HD videos and detailed pictures at low light better than front. The front camera is decent enough for 480p SD video call quality.

Market insights shows increasing demand for bigger screen phones. Actually people are shifting from small screen to big screen smartphones like 5.5”, but the tablet demand is very low. Samsung’s tablet portfolio is small and they have very less products in budget segment. The device is powered by 4000 mAh battery which is really nice thing.

Most of the tablets at this size tend to have smaller battery. Since the last year’s S6, the company is cranking its battery game. Galaxy J Max has Bluetooth 4.0, 4G VoLTE USB OTG support and FM radio. It supports two SIM cards and this is no hybrid SIM system. Samsung is supplying only black and gold color models.

Despite being a latest device of 2016 September, it still runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop. We assume that the Marshmallow update is on its way. It uses latest Turbo Speed Technology that was introduced in latest Galaxy J2. Clearly there are older and important features such as power saving mode, Ultra data saving etc.

This is device for very specific people who need bigger screen and entertainment. It is not for people who need power and portability. The company could have used AMOLED like regular J series phones but we know it would have easily notched the price up. Spreadtum quad-core processor is good but Qualcomm or Exynos could have made it awesome.

Some people might complain about having just 1.5 GB RAM instead of whole 2 GB. Samsung has really improved RAM management and application efficiency with the new Turbo speed technology. Their claim of being faster is actually lab verified. It is not the best from Samsung like J5, J7, Note but they did what they could to fill the tablet market with it quality product.
