These phone have now officially replaced old models but they come up with increased price. Apparently they offer somehow higher power for the new price. At first let us remove the confusion of metallic body. The handsets aren’t completely made up of metal like Galaxy A series, only the side rail is made of metal with internal chassis as well. Outside and back are all plastic made. Just like last year, the phones have kept its best parts like SAMOLED screen and front facing LED flash.

Comparison and Analysis:
Both phones are available at slightly higher price than last edition’s initial price but we get some update with it. The new metal rail provides extra strength and the design has been slightly changed. For both of the phones there is no upgrade in camera section but they are still great in terms of performance. The wide angle lens with the f/1.9 aperture helps taking fast, wide photos and clear low light images. Both Galaxy J 2016 have 2 GB RAM while the old editions had only 1.5 GB RAM so this is a good upgrade for phones of this generation. One thing to notice is that pixel density dropped for newer J5.
Newer OS has been loaded which is Marshmallow while older one had Lollipop out of the box. The performance and battery life has been improved a bit due to software. The battery also has been given upgrade from 2600 mAh to 3100 mAh for J5 and 3000 mAh to 3300 mAh for J7. For us battery upgrade is always highly appreciated. The processors are paired with good amount of RAM and a decent graphics card which can deliver satisfactory and also good gaming plus multimedia experience. The bigger battery should help you get more than one day with average usage. The new S Bike mode is also available which was introduces in Galaxy J3 (2016)
In Nepali market the old J series have been replaced by fresh new gen devices. Samsung Nepal will sell the new 2016 edition from now on. They are quite improved but not as expected.
The higher price is being criticized by many people because of less upgrades being provided. Even though the price is steep the specs are still great and if the phone fits your budget then go for them because Samsung never compromises the quality. Still Xiaomi Note 3 and One Plus X are still great options to look at as they are now sold officially.
