The webpage just shows the list of authorized outlets. After finding out the showroom, go and fill out the required details. Then make a payment of Rs 5,000 and get the confirmation from the shop.

Prebooking offers and discounts

Samsung is providing discounts and offers in terms of other products. Customers can get devices like Galaxy Buds+, LED television, etc at cheap though. For regular pre-book, the advanced payment is Rs 5,000. If you are buying Galaxy S20 then you can add Rs 2,999 and can get Galaxy Buds+. Its retail cost is 17,000 so we consider a very good deal. Another option is paying Rs 2,999 extra and getting a 32″ LED TV. This seems an even better option.

When you book the S20 Plus, you can get the Galaxy Buds+ free. Else if you want a 32 inch TV then you can just add Rs 5,999. These are very interesting deals. The value add is very high. So if you were planning to buy these phones, we highly recommend doing a pre-order to enjoy such gifts. Else after retail launch, the offers will no longer be available.

Just like previous years, there are Galaxy Gifts as well. One lucky winner can get a round trip flight in Turkish Airlines. Then there is Galaxy Watch 2 as second prize and two nights stay at Waterfront Resort. Selected lucky draw winners can also get Rs 5000 worth coupon from Let Me In as well. There are many benefits if you do pre-order but be sure before purchasing because it is a big investment.

The S20 is the new era phone and it features lots of changes. First is the name and leaving the 10 series, this new lineup is embracing 20 series name as the decade starts with 2020. There are significant changes such as camera sensor size, design, and features. Just like always, the focus is heavily on the camera. But most of all the Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G focuses on camera with 108 MP camera and 8k video recording. We will talk about every phone but let us start with the specs of the S20.

  • Front Camera: 10 Megapixel with f/2.2 aperture

This time there is a new Exynos 990 processor which is built on 7nm+ lithography. It has 2.73 GHz and 2.5 GHz dual-core sets with one 2 GHz quad-core set. Then there is Snapdragon 865 which is one of the fastest mobile processor. It has a 1.8 GHz quad-core set, 2.42 GHz tri-core and 2.84 GHz single-core combination. There is just one model with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. For more space, there is micro SD card support up to 1024 GB.

The screen has seen a huge change because it is much bigger and with even smaller bezels. Talking about the screen one of the most important features is the 120Hz refresh rate. This looks amazing because the experience feels much more fluid and fast. However, it is currently only available for 1080p resolution. It might be fixed for full resolution in the next update.

As always Samsung has hugely focused on its camera. Since Galaxy S7, they were using 12 Megapixel sensors, but now they have upgraded to 64 MP for telephoto. It has 3x optical zoom and it is the sensor that captures 8k videos. The other two cameras or the main wide and ultrawide are still 12 MP. Maximum video recording resolution is now 7680×4320 (8K) at 24 fps for the rear camera. For the front 10 MP camera, it is now 4K. These are very high resolution and we are seeing the glimpse of the future.

Samsung Galaxy S20+ Specifications and Analysis

  • Display: 6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED Screen with 1440×3200 resolution
  • Screen Protection: Corning Gorilla Glass 6
  • Chipset and Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 865/ Exynos 990
  • On-board storage: 128 GB UFS 3.0
  • Memory: 8 GB DDR4 RAM
  • Battery: 4500 mAh with 25W fast charging
  • Rear Cameras: 12 Megapixel f/1.8 wide-angle primary, 12 Megapixel f/2.2 aperture ultrawide angle, 64 Megapixel with f/2.0 aperture telephoto and 0.3 Megapixel Time of Flight sensor cameras
  • Front Camera: 10 Megapixel with f/2.2 aperture

The Galaxy S20 Plus has same internals as of the normal S20. Plus model mainly has a bigger screen, battery and one 3D TOF sensor at the back. Those are the only benefits on these phones. But by all means, these are useful because bigger battery means longer use-life and bigger screen real estate means more content consumption space. An additional camera means better camera power and features.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra Specifications and Analysis

  • Display: 6.9″ Dynamic AMOLED Screen with 1440×3200 resolution
  • Screen Protection: Corning Gorilla Glass 6
  • Chipset and Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 865/ Exynos 990
  • On-board storage: 128/256/512 GB UFS 3.0
  • Memory: 12/16 GB RAM
  • Battery: 5000 mAh with 25W fast charging

  • Front Camera: 40 Megapixel with f/2.2 aperture

This is a very interesting phone it shines above all. Its price is also $1399 starting for 12 GB RAM version. There is one 16 GB RAM model and that also has 512 GB storage. In this S20 Ultra, we get a 6.9″ screen which is insane and is Tablet size. Thanks to the smaller bezels, it fits in the pocket. The processor is the same as the other models but other things are different. There is a giant 5000 mAh battery with special 45W fast charging.

For the camera, the main sensor is 108 MP and it is the one which takes 8K footage without crop. The S20 and S20+ take 8K video but with a crop because they use just 64 MP sensor. The ultrawide camera is the same 12 MP one but for telephoto, there is a 48 MP periscope sensor. This is the first time we saw Samsung implement this. With this, we get 5X optical zoom and 10x hybrid optical zoom with digital zoom up to 100x. This is record-breaking power in a smartphone. As the sensor size is also larger, a low light capability is also highly enhanced.

Impressions and Advice

The Galaxy S20 Ultra will come to Nepal after a while. For now, there are just S20 and S20+. So people have fewer options. Nepalese markets always amaze us and the companies. Nepali people are very tech-savvy and they love the best product. We see that customers buy the best and top of the line product. So for those users, Galaxy S20 Ultra is not available which is quite disappointing. But there is Galaxy S20+ for the people who want all those power and features. There is a big screen, a big battery, new cameras, and the new chipset. S20+ is already a very powerful phone and it is great to upgrade over Galaxy S8 and S9+.

For people who want a relatively small phone, there is regular S20. It is perfect for users who need a powerful small phone. It is not small but it is relatively small. One of the best things about this is the 4000 mAh battery. Samsung has implemented the correct battery size in all of the three new models. This time we don’t get a small phone like S10e. But we can’t tell about Samsung because they may release something in the upcoming months.

As for our advice, we would take Galaxy S20 Ultra just for battery, 108 MP camera, 100x zoom and full 8k recording. As that is not the case for the current pre-order, we would recommend Galaxy S20+ because of the battery size. That is the only reason for us because the screen size of S20 is already massive. Else go for the smallest normal Galaxy S20. If you are confused among these phones and want to save money, go for Note 10, Galaxy S10 or the S10+.
