Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge has been released in Nepal. Many people have bought it and we also used it many times. We tested both Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. The price of Galaxy S6 is Rs 64000. and Price of Galaxy S6 Edge in Nepal is Rs 75000. Samsung is leading company of South Korea that competes with all other brands in context of flagship mobiles. Samsung is still the most preferred mobile brands and the S series is always the flagship. Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is the new but finer upgrade of 2016. Let’s talk about its power and features and let’s review it first.
As a Flagsip phone S6 has all the top notch features that anyone would crave. Galaxy S6 is a smartphone with 5.1 inch display having resolution of 1440×2560 with a pixel density of 577 ppi built of Super AMOLED. The screen protection is Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It supports Nano SIM and will support all networks from 2G to LTE. It is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 7420 octa core processor that consists of quad-core Cortex-A53 1.5 GHz with another quad-core Cortex-A57 2.1 GHz with 3GB RAM and Mali graphics card . The variant models are available that is of 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.
Camera: The back camera is 16MP capable of shooting 1080p videos at 60 fps, 720p videos at 120 fps and 2160p at 30 fps with HDR and picture’s resolution can be of maximum 2988X5312. The front camera is 5 MP capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps, dual video and HDR. The special about these flagship phone camera is the capability of recording 4K Ultra HD videos. You won’t believe that looking at the screen while recording gave us the feel that screen world looks beautiful than real life world. The vivid color and bright appearance makes everything beautiful.
All the features like gyro-sensor, accelerometer are clearly there and there are advanced features like Sp02, barometer, heart rate, wireless charging, S Voice support, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth , TV-Out etc. A curved version known as Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is also available. The phone comes with 5.1.1 Lollipop.
What people don’t like?
Being a flagship phone it has all those fancy features like high power camera and barometer etc. But the biggest disappointment for the people are
– They won’t be able to use external SD card which have been people’s biggest preference. We know that Nexus devices are also like that but this is one of the reason why people buy Samsung. People like to have their own removable SD card according to their own wish.
– So the phone won’t be water proof as the Galaxy S5 was.
– Nano SIM is irritating to some people.
For storage if you buy a 32 GB model, if it is not sufficient you can always use USB OTG Cable and use memory cards and pen drive. In Nepal you will only get 32 GB model because higher becomes over expensive.
The flagship phones always show new features like in Samsung Galaxy S4 we saw reading mode that would scroll the page as we go down and the feature that would turn the display off if our eyes close while feeling sleepy. These features worked on eye tracking. This time Samsung introduced its new feature for paying that is Samsung Pay. The new Fingerprint sensor is also introduced which is PayPal certified. This is good but we haven’t even seen much use of NFC payments till now. Wireless charging can be wonderful but this started since dawn of S3.
The chassis is of metal just like we saw on Galaxy Alpha series. The back is also covered using Gorilla Glass 4 which gives it solid and good look. There are really good features and some unpleasant changes too but evolution is one of key factor in development. As for the battery you will need to go to service center to change the battery. There are both benefits of not having SD card support. The dark part is that people can’t have the SD card they like and remove it then use it in another phone but the bright side is that the processing, file retrieval becomes fast which we all wan’t It is just not user serviceable.
