Samsung Nepal is going to launch brand new Galaxy S9 and S9+ in Nepal on March 12 2018. The media launch is set one week after Samsung India’s launch event which is on March 6th. The sales are told to start from about March 26th. S series flagship phones are given very high priority than others for launch. They always launch their new flagship phones within a month of international launch.
We got the tip from Samsung company staff and next confirmation from high level officer as well. The media launch for Nepal is somewhat near to last years date. Galaxy S8 and S8+ were revealed for Nepal on March 19th last year. So this time we are getting it about a week earlier. The phones are very similar in design to its predecessors. These new phones are more refinements than overhaul. Major updates are found on camera, sensor placements and processor.
Pricing is very similar like last year. The Galaxy S9 Plus is quite expensive than regular Galaxy S9. This year there are three storage variants of each models. Unlike previous year’s single 64 GB variant, we are getting many options. Internationally there are 64, 128 and 256 GB models. Samsung is still providing memory card support. The SD card capacity is now 400 GB instead of 256 GB.
Pricing and Models: As far as our sources tell us, Nepal is only getting the 64 GB in first phase. In Nepal, approximate price of Galaxy S9 is Rs 88,900 and for S9 Plus is Rs 98,900. We will confirm the pricing on launch date. The higher storage or 128 GB models might come in future. India is also getting 64 GB and 256 GB while USA is getting all three choices. We usually see that Galaxy phones in Nepal are cheaper than Indian launch MRP. The case should be similar this time as well
Nepal is getting Exynos variant just like India. Only USA customers get Snapdragon version. Samsung may also reveal new upgraded Dex at launch program. As always we might see Insurance and EMI programs for these new smartphones. Obviously there will be extra goodies for Pre-bookers. Sales are expected to start within two weeks after media launch in Kathmandu.
We will review these beautiful beasts very soon. So stay tuned with us do tell us what you want featured in the detail review.
