Vivo is a smartphone giant in the Chinese market. Now it has stepped into Nepal with its new mid-range phone. Vivo V7 was recently launched at an event at Yak and Yeti, Kathmandu. The launch of Vivo V7 marks the commencement of Vivo Nepal’s official journey in Nepal. Currently, at launch Vivo V7 price in Nepal Rs 29,990. Actually, the V7 has been announced officially but the Vivo Y53 and Vivo Y65 were on sale before the official announcement in the market. For everyone kind information, we want to state that Vivo is also owned by BBK Electronics which owns Oppo.
Basically, Oppo and OnePlus are also under the same BBK Electronics. OnePlus is a bit different but in comparing the Oppo and Vivo, we can see how both companies have common target users. They mostly target selfie-loving users. Most of their ads always focus on selfies, cameras, and music. So there are major similarities. We have seen huge marketing and market share of both Oppo and Vivo in India and now it has come to Nepal as well. We are very happy about the arrival of the new company because it creates competition.

Core Internal Hardware
On the inside, we get a Snapdragon 450 SoC with a 1.8 GHz octa-core processor. The Snapdragon 450 is quite equivalent to Snapdragon 625 which means we get good performance. On the memory side, we get 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage with Vivo V7. The phone also supports external SD cards up to 256 GB which is pretty nice. There is also a 3000 mAh battery that is sealed inside. The battery is a bit on the smaller side in this phone.
As the latest mid-range phone, we do get good sets of sensors. This includes a compass, face unlock, accelerometer, and gyroscope. In the case of software, it is currently running Android 7.1 with Funtouch UI on top. As per rumors, the Android 8 Oreo update is coming very soon for Vivo V7 users.
Display and Cameras
The new Vivo V7 comes with a 5.7” IPS LCD screen with 18:9 aspect ratio. The screen resolution is 720×1440, which is a newer taller ratio. This gives a longer form factor but helps reduce bezels. These days newer phones are coming with this new 18:9 aspect ratio with HD+ and FHD+ resolution to provide more real estate.
On the camera side, the front camera is a 24 MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and the back camera is just 16 MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. We can clearly see, the front is better than the back camera. This shows that Vivo V7 is focusing more on the selfie camera. Many people take photos from the back camera of mobile. Smartphones have literally replaced click-and-shoot digital camera. We expect back cameras to be better at mid-range. Actually 16 MP is very good and enough for taking high resolution pictures and full HD videos.
In this phone, the back camera is good but the crown jewel is the front camera with a higher pixel count. It can take far better pictures than a back camera. This is to attract youth who take lots of photos and videos from the front camera. Also, people get great results with better software processing. Both cameras can shoot at 1080p resolution easily.
