One year after the successful launch of Mi A2, Xiaomi Nepal has launched the new Mi A3. The A-series is one of the best selling and most love smartphone from this company. This is due to the highly praised stock Android OS. Xiaomi ships their phone with MIUI but in A series they ship Stock Android One with no UI on top. This became a huge hit with Mi A1 and people loved it. The A3 continues this trend with new improved specs and design. The Xiaomi Mi A3 price in Nepal is Rs 23,999 for 4 GB variant and Rs 27,999 for 6 GB edition.
The new Mi A3 brings a lot to the table this time. There are very good improvements in the display, processor, battery, camera, and additional features. Xiaomi has packed all the latest features like an in-display fingerprint scanner, 48 MP camera, Gorilla Glass, etc. These are the trendy things and most importantly it brings new design and software. The best integration my Mi in A3 are SD card and 3.5mm headphone jack. These were missing since first generation but now the course has been corrected.

If we compare these specs to last year’s Mi A3 we see that we are getting very good upgrades in everything. The processor is Snapdragon 665 which 2 GHz and 1.8 GHz quad core sets. This is a new version and updated iteration of SD 660. The phones come with either 4 GB or 6 GB memory option. With 4 GB model there is 64 GB space while with 6 GB model there is 128 GB storage. Make the coice considering RAM because for storage we can use micro SD card.
Xiaomi has opted for much better Super AMOLED screen instead of IPS LCD and this definitely makes huge difference is display quality. But the resolution is just 720p and this is low for the screen of this size. Last year the screen was a bit smaller but had 1080p so the resolution doesn’t get good marks in our view. But as this is AMOLED, we give it a pass. Also there is Gorilla Glass 5 on top which is simply amazing to have. The battery size is also 4030 mAh which is generous capacity for a phone of this size.
Camera is also improved because selfie camera is now 32 MP. At back we have a new ultrawide sensor. So there is a 48 MP wide sensor with f/1.8 aperture, then we get 8 MP ulrawide module and a 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The back camera set can record 4K videos at 30 fps and 1080p videos in 120 fps.
Features, Improvements, and Analysis
Xiaomi has improved everything in this new phone. The Xiaomi Mi A3 has everything that was missing. It has the headphone jack, SD card slot, dual SIM support, fast charging, indisplay fingerprint scanner and a lot of things. The processor is not a very big jump but we accept the upgrade. The most loved improvement is Super AMOLED screen but we want to see FHD or FHD+ next time. Battery size jump by 1000 mAh is also very good and we give them a thumbs up on this.
We tested Mi A2 very much and we still use it. It had really good picture quality with amazing color and details. Similary this time also Xiaomi is not letting any stones unturned so they have put some of best cameras for this range. Addition of ultrawide camera is a good thing they have done. Most importantly we get Android One which means fast updates, pure Android and less bloatware. It is a upper budget range phone and for the price it offers a lot. This is one of the best phone at this price point. So if you are planning to buy a new smartphone at this range, Mi A3 is definitely a great option.
