Students of Samsung Innovation Campus’ awarded certificates for Training in Future-Tech Courses

Samsung has awarded certificates to 53 students of Pulchowk Campus of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering for the completion of the 3rd batch of Coding and Programming of its flagship CSR programme, Samsung Innovation Campus. The next batch of students will now start the Artificial Intelligence course at the university.

The certificates of completion were presented to 53 students at a ceremony conducted at, Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering. The event was graced by Mr. In Su Kim, Head, Nepal Office, Samsung & Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Professor & Dean, Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering. The event was attended by Mr. Binod Kumar Bhattarai Assistant Dean Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering, Mr. Suraj Lamichhane Assistant Dean Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering and Dr. Indra Prasad Acharya, Campus Chief, Pulchowk Campus,.

“We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the 3rd batch of the Coding & Programming course, which is a testament to the impact Samsung Innovation Campus has been able to generate. We are thrilled to witness significant participation from students and unprecedented support by our partners. We look forward to an engaging partnership with the prestigious Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering to upskill students in future tech domains such as AI, Big Data & IoT. We aim to continuously empower the Nepalese youth and make them job-ready,” said Mr. In Su Kim, Head, Nepal Office.

Samsung inaugurated its global CSR programme, Samsung Innovation Campus at the Pulchowk Campus of Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering in December 2023. Under the programme, Samsung will train youth in Nepal in future tech-skills such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Big Data and Coding & Programming, contributing to the development of a strong technology and innovation ecosystem in Nepal. The prerequisites to be selected for the courses include knowledge of algorithms, data structures and programming.

As part of the programme, the students will be provided real job skills and in-demand tech skills that will improve their digital literacy, learning abilities, creativity and employability.

“Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering is delighted to run this prestigious course in Nepal. This is instrumental for the development and upskilling of our students. We completed the Coding & Programming course and it was highly appreciated. We are honoured to have collaborated with Samsung to run this course at the Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering,” said Dr. Shashidhar Ram Joshi, Professor & Dean, Tribhuvan University Institute of Engineering.

Along with technological training, the programme also offers soft skills training to enhance students’ employability and ability to bring their knowledge to life. Besides, it also nurtures problem-solving capabilities that will enable students to become innovative thinkers.

As part of the courses, students will also go through a practical project. In this, students will be challenged to present projects of social significance in which AI, Big Data, Coding & Programming and IoT play a role.

Samsung Innovation Campus was launched in 2019. The programme is a part of Samsung’s global CSR vision of “Together for Tomorrow! Enabling People”, and trains students and youth to be experienced in key technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, nurturing them to be the next generation workforce. Samsung believes in using innovation to positively transform communities and create a better life for people through its CSR initiatives. Empowering youth through education is one of the best ways we can prepare our young people to boldly face the world of the future.
